Some of the Most Common Diabetes Causes

by Binford Noto

At one time, doctors didn't think there was much that could be done for diabetes. They thought absolutely nothing could be done to keep the disease from taking place. Now we are knowledgeable. Now we recognize there are some causes of diabetes that are entirely within our control. Now we recognize that diabetes can come into being because of environmental factors and personal decisions. While Type 1 diabetes is mainly up to things that can't be completely controlled, Type 2 diabetes mainly happens because of personal decisions. Here are some of the origins of diabetes and what you can do for them.

While Type 1 diabetes is not typically passed down from generation to generation, having a genetic predisposition for it is not totally unheard of. It is rare that a person will contract Type 1 diabetes just because his father had it. Still though, it does happen from time to time. If someone in your family has Type 1 diabetes, talk to your doctor about what you can do to prevent it from happening to you. You can't control your genetics but you can control your overall health.

How much moving around or excercise do you get? Scientists have recently discovered that leading a sedentary lifestyle can contribute heavily to whether or not a person develops diabetes. Any ideas on what that means? It means you need to get up and move around! Thirty minutes a day of excercise is recommended. This excercise can be low intensity. Even just an easy walk around the block at night can be enough to stave off diabetes. Exercise or lack thereof is the most simple action you can take to fight diabetes. What in the world are you still doing sitting there? Get up off your butt and walk!

Do you consume a lot of fatty foods? Quit that! Diets that are full of high fat foods are a large cause for diabetes. This is just one of the reasons that your doctor will tell you to cut out the fatty foods that you have been eating.

Fatty food is bad for you, from all angles. It can augment weight gain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and now we have the knowledge it can also make diabetes occur. Snacking from time to time won't make the disease happen. Regularly eating poor meals, on the other hand, could spell the difference between being healthy and being a diabetic.

There are number of factors within and out of your control that can cause diabetes to take place. Causes, such as genetics, gender and heredity are things you will never be able to control. Other factors, such as high blood pressure or diet are things that you can manage, entirely. One of the most wonderful ways to try to keep the diabetes causes from taking over is to stay as healthy as you are able to. Even the littlest choices, like what you snack on in the afternoons can be a genesis in whether or not you end up with diabetes. Make sure you try to stay as healthy as you possibly can and, hopefully, you will be just fine and have nothing to worry about.
